Sony to remove Apple from top in download market?

Tokyo, Sep 1: After failing to gain ground on Apple in the download market, Sony Corp is planning to launch a new music and video download service, Financial Times reported on Wednesday, Sep 1.

According the journal, Sony would come up with the announcement on the very same day when Apple scheduled a media event in the United States on Sep 1.

Various internet-connected devices, such as Walkman music players, Vaio computers, Bravia TVs, Blu-ray players and Sony Ericsson mobile phones will get the access of the new download service.

However, consumers will get that facilities from 2011 only, it won't be available before that.

On the other side Apple may reveal its revamped iPod and may announce about its own TV project, Apple TV at its media event on Wednesday, Sep 1.
