Love Marriage: Girl taken away from Haryana court

Rewari (Haryana), Aug 31: In an incident that shows that love marriage in India is still a societal and cultural 'offence', a girl, who had eloped and married a boy, was taken away forcibly from a court complex here.

The girl, identified as Poonam, was picked up on Monday, Aug 30 just as she was about to enter the court of Additional Sessions Judge JR Chauhan to record her statement over her marriage.

Even thought there are no concrete details on those involved in the incident, there are speculations that the people, who took away Poonam, belonged to her own family.

Poonam eloped and married Rajpal Yadav, a youth from the same village, against her family's wishes.
