17 killed, 11 injured in South Waziristan suicide bombing in mosque
Wana (Pakistan), Aug 23(ANI): At least 17 people were killed and 11 other sustained serious injuries in a bombing at a mosque in Wana Bazaar area of Pakistan's South Waziristan Agency (SWA).
Among those killed was a former member of Pakistan National Assembly, Maulana Noor Mohammad.
Mohammad was greeting members of the congregation outside the mosque when the attack happened.
According to reports, a suicide bomber carried out the attack
The blast was so powerful that it was heard far and wide, The News reports.
The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, while security forces cordoned off the blast site. (ANI)
