Obama earns lowest points for handling of US economy
London, Aug 18 (ANI): US President Barack Obama has earned the lowest points for handling the country's economy, with only 41 per cent saying they approve of his performance.
A poll conducted by Associated Press-GfK, taken just 11 weeks before the Midterm elections, found his approval rating dropping from 44 per cent in April. It also found 61 percent of the participants saying the economy has got worse or has stayed the same under Obama's presidency," The Telegraph reports.
Seventy five percent did not expect noticeable economic improvements in the first 18 months of Obama's term as president.
With most Americans personally liking Obama, his popular approval rating remained unaffected at 49 percent.
The Republicans, however, are leaving no stones unturned in assuring Americans that they can create jobs that Obama has failed to deliver.
"The truth is, it's going to take a few years to fully dig ourselves out of this recession. It's going to take time to bring back 8 million jobs. Anybody who tells you otherwise is just looking for your vote," said Obama, while campaigning for Democratic candidates in Seattle. (ANI)
