Villagers realise wrong way of pray after 10 years

Riyadh, Jul 29: Worshippers in a village, just 20 km away from Mecca, prayed in the wrong direction for 10 years.

Worshippers in Hadda village in Saudi Arabia prayed 10 years in the northern direction instead of praying to southeast direction.

After realising the error, the mosque's leaders changed the direction of the prayer carpets to the right direction.

Muslims are meant to pray in the direction of the most sacred site in Islam, known as the Kaaba, a large granite structure in the holy city of Mecca.
