Maoist sub-zonal commander Rajesh Yadav surrenders in Jharkhand

Palamu, July 29 (ANI): Rajesh Yadav, a sub-zonal commander of outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoist) surrendered to the police at Daltonganj in Jharkhand's Palamu district on Wednesday.

He surrendered before the Regi Dungdung, Inspector General of Police, Palamu Range.

Also known as Sagar and Kunkun Yadav, he said that he left the group on realising the futility of the Maoist movement, which has now divided into increasing number of factions.

"I worked in the party for a long time and then I thought that I would not get any success.

If I surrender I will at least get security otherwise one cannot stay, as there are so many factions and parties. If one doesn't agree with the party one can't live," he added.

He also handed over his gun, two magazines and seven cartridges to the police.

"If there are others who are there and want to surrender, we will welcome them. If we say about the action taken for them, we will take them in the future also and if anybody harms people, will take action against them," said Regi Dungdung, Inspector General of Police, Palamu Range. (ANI)
