Six killed in suicide attack on Pak minister's house near Peshawar

Noshehra, July 26(ANI): At least six people, including two policemen, were killed and 15 others injured in a powerful explosion outside the residence of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Iftikhar Hussain in Pabbi, a town near Peshawar.

The incident comes two days after Iftikhar's only son Rashid Hussain was killed by Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants.

Rashid was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard in Pabbi amid tight security on Sunday.

For the past two years, Iftikhar had been receiving death threats from militants for his outspoken opposition to terrorism.

According to reports, a suicide bomber tried to force his way into the house, but heavy security at the home was able to get hold of the man.

On being intercepted, the bomber blew him up killing several on the spot and injuring many others.

The injured have been rushed to a local hospital, and some of them are being transported to Lady Reading Hospital.

Meanwhile, a heavy police contingent has cordoned off the area following the blast. (ANI)
