Britain needs 'special relationship' with India
London, Jul 26: The mainstream British media had expressed their observation that Britain needs "special relationship" with India more than India does.
The British newspapers had acknowledged India as a rising global economic power.
"India is a crucial regional actor and an emerging power. Most of all, it must be a force for modernity," said a leading British paper.
Ahead of the British prime minister David Cameron's India visit, British media had come up with their several views like "good things will come from the trip, but it is not hard to see which country needs it more."
The Telegraph said, "India still needs British aid for its infrastructure projects, but cautions the Cameron delegation."
But the media also feared that India may see such talk as patronizing, not least since over the past decade Britain had fallen from India's fourth most important source of imports to 18th.
