Iraq invasion was illegal: British Deputy PM

London, Jul 22: British Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has told that the invasion of Iraq in 2003 was illegal.

Nick Clegg, Liberal Democrat leader's new statement in the parliament made confusion in Britain's coalition government. Some of the Conservative MPs angered against his comments.

Prime Minister David Cameron and other Conservative MPs have voted for the invasion in British Parliament in 2003. The Liberal Democrats were the only mainstream party to oppose the decision to invade in Iraq.

Nick Clegg commented over Iraq invasion when he was describing about Iraq inquiry led by Sir John Chilcot.
