Orissa police nab Maoist wanted in 11 cases
Bhubaneshwar, Jul 20: Orissa police has nabbed a Maoist, who is one of the key members of the state unit of the outlawed Communist Party of India - Maoist and wanted in as many as 11 cases of red violence.
40-year-old Jacob Majhi was arrested on Monday, Jul 19 in his native village Ludingi in Gajapti district.
He was sent to judicial custody after his bail petition was rejected by a local court, police inspector P Mallik told a news agency on Tuesday, Jul 20.
Majhi was allegedly involved in the killing of two village guards at Katamaha village in Gajapati in May 2010.
The inspector also informed that out of the 11 cases in which the arrested Maoist is accused nine cases were reported during the 2008-2009 while the other cases were reported in 2003.
