Violence in Australian election campaign

Sydney, Jul 19: Two different violent incidents happened in the Australian election campaign.

In Adelaide two men attacked a Liberal Party candidate, Jassmine Wood, during an argument over the treatment of asylum-seekers (someone who has fled their home country and sought asylum in another country). Police arrested the culprits.

In Sydney unidentified attackers fired shots into the campaign office and home of Labor Party candidate, Brent Thomas. Police and counter-terrorism investigation team have started investigation on the incident.
