Martyrs Day: Curfew reimposed in Sopore, Batamaloo areas of Srinagar
Srinagar, July 13 (ANI): Curfew was reimposed in the Sopore and Batamaloo areas of Srinagar on Tuesday to prevent the surfacing of untoward incidents on the occasion of Martyrs Day.
Life in the Kashmir Valley remained disrupted today amid a shut down and strict security restrictions.
Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code was enforced in the interior parts of Srinagar as both factions of the All Parties Hurriyat conference (APHC) issued a call to people to march to the martyrs' grave yard.
State Chief Minister Omar Abdulla and leaders of other main stream parties also visited the graveyard to pay floral tribute to those who laid down their lives on this day in 1931 against Dogra rule. (ANI)
