Julia Gillard's fashion choices trigger debate Down Under

Melbourne, July 11 (ANI): Australian Premier Julia Gillard's fashion sense has sparked off a heated debate among the nation's most stylish.

Topping the list is a patterned coat Gillard sported on a visit to a Queanbeyan shopping centre during her first week as the Prime Minister.

And this coat - which one Melbourne stylist said looked like "a cheap motel bedspread" - isn't in any way cheap.

The double-breasted piece is available at high-end Sydney store Library for a good 1250dollars, reports The Daily Telegraph.

It's just one of a swag of items Gillard recently purchased from the Phillip St boutique, which custom-tailors suits for its high-profile clients.

Library also exclusively stocks French designer label Anne Fontaine.

It's believed Gillard bought 12 suits and a selection of shirts from the store - an impressive shopping spree, considering she receives no clothing allowance. (ANI)
