Iran releases 'Islamic' hair style catalogue

Tehran, Jul 8: It is a known fact that the Islamic states impose conservative dress code on women, now Iran has taken it a step further by restricting hair styling options for men.

Sensing that the Iranian youth were getting out of control with their untamed hair, the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance has decided to release 'Journal of Iranian Hairstyles Approved by the Ministry' to guide men towards 'Islamic' grooming.

This means that there will be no more pony tails, spiked hair or any other hairstyle inspired by Hollywood or western trends. Shaping eyebrows and beards are also a big no-no.

The journal, which will be released during the launch for the upcoming 'Modesty and Veil Festival'
on Monday, Jul 12, will contain a photo catalog of acceptable haircuts.

With help from the Barbers Association, the Iranian government will be distributing the catalog throughout the country.
