Truck accident kills 8 in UP
Lucknow, Jul 1: Eight people were killed and five injured in an accident in Uttar Pradesh. The accident took place at around 2 am when a speeding truck spun out of control and collided with Tata Qualis.
"According to eyewitnesses, the speeding truck spun out of control and hit the Tata Qualis. While five people died on the spot, three breathed their last on their way to the hospital," said police inspector Nawal Kishore Tiwari.
"The injured are being treated at a hospital. The condition of three is stated to be critical. We have constituted teams to nab the truck driver who managed to escape," he added.
The accident happened in Lalitpur district, 300 km from Lucknow. The people killed in the accident hail from Madhya Pradesh.
