Nepal PM Madhav Kumar resigns
Katmandu,Jul 1: Facing political pressure, Madhav Kumar Nepal finally resigned as Nepal's prime minister on Wednesday, Jun 30.
Announcing his resignation in a televised address on Wednesday, Jun 30, he said, "Since it is not right to keep the country in a state of indecision and uncertainty, I have decided to resign so that the peace process and the constitution drafting process are completed."
"I hope the Maoists would carry out the remaining tasks of the peace process as they had announced" he added.
Later he submitted his resignation to President Ram Baran Yadav.
Prime Minister Nepal came to power on May 25, 2009. He was nominated as a PM through internal arrangements within the various political parties of Nepal.
