Sacked MIC secretary general knew he would be removed
Kuala Lumpur, May 31 (ANI): Recently sacked Malaysian-Indian Congress secretary general S. Murugessan said he knew his removal was imminent after he demanded an explanation for the sacking of four other party-members who were opposing the party president Samy Vellu.
Nevertheless, Murugessan stayed firm to his beliefs irrespective of the consequences.
Harbouring no malice over his sacking, Murugessan thanked Vellu for the opportunities accorded to him.
"I wish to thank the president for giving me the opportunity to contest in Subang (in the last general election) and to serve as secretary-general," The Star quoted Murugessan as saying.
He also welcomed the appointent of his successor, Negri Sembilan chief T. Rajagopalu.
"I congratulate Datuk T. Rajagopalu and wish him all the best," he said. (ANI)
