John Edwards' estranged wife doesn't want his mistress to become her kids' stepmom

New York, May 31 (ANI): Former US Senator John Edwards' estranged wife Elizabeth is taking measures to stop Rielle Hunter, with whom her husband had an affair, from getting hold of her children, if in case she succumbs to cancer, sources say.

Hunter has a 2-year-old daughter with the politician.

Elizabeth is reportedly looking to give responsibility of raising Emma, 12, and son Jack, 10, to her 28-year-old daughter, Cate.

"She doesn't want Rielle anywhere near them," the New York Daily News quoted a source, as saying.

Elizabeth "has been grooming Cate to take over," added the insider.

Cate is a Harvard Law School pass out and is working in federal court in Alexandria, Va.

However, Elizabeth's sister Nancy Anania Sims doesn't "think" she wants Cate to become her siblings' guardian.

"There are a lot of family members who are willing and able [to look after Jack and Emma]. They'll be well taken care of."

Referring to Elizabeth's physical condition, she added: "She is in treatment. But she's doing well. She's from strong Italian stock. She has more energy than I do." (ANI)
