Mercer study declares Vienna the world's most livable city for second straight year
London, May 27 (ANI): Austrian capital Vienna has been voted the world's most livable city for the second straight year by Mercer, a London-based investment services company.
Vienna is followed closely by two Swiss cities: Zurich and Geneva.
Mercer's annual survey examines 221 cities worldwide, taking into account the political, social and economic climate. Medical care, education, public transportation, power and water supply are also weighed, as well as recreational offerings, like restaurants, theaters, cinemas and sports facilities.
Vienna's official web site celebrated the news with exuberance.
The website said: "A fact that makes millions of visitors to Vienna so enthusiastic has again been confirmed by a well-known international city survey: Vienna's the best in every way!!!"
As far as the U.S. was concerned, none of its cities cracked the top 10. Honolulu was voted the top U.S. city at No. 31, followed by San Francisco (No. 33) and Boston (No. 37).
Not surprisingly, Baghdad is at the bottom of the pile, with its lack of security and stability cited as the main reason. (ANI)
