Bridge in Russia 'bounces like a ball' with wind
Melbourne, May 27 (ANI): A bridge in Volgograd, Russia has been filmed bouncing up and down with the wind.
Russian TV station www.1tv.ru has shown the seven-kilometre bridge bouncing by more than three feet (nearly one metre) due to the wind.
The movement is said to have been accompanied by a screeching sound.
It was closed for safety inspections and reopened after it was found to be "structurally sound".
"I started thinking, maybe something had happened with my suspension," News.com.au quoted Andrey Bystrov, who crossed the bridge, as saying.
He added: "Then I looked ahead to the coming vehicles and they were all swinging up and down."
The bridge, over the Volga River, was built at a cost of 480 million dollars and became operational just eight months ago. (ANI)
