Mangalore: Agonising wait for deadbodies continues
Mangalore, May 24: The kith and kin of those who have lost their lives in the Mangalore air crash still wait agonising, for the bodies of their loved ones. It still remains a horror to identify the bodies as many have just a watch, a piece of cloth, an earing or a shoe to go by. Some officials at work in hospitals are trying their best to make the procedures a little better.
As the bodies are burnt beyond recognition, there are multiple claims over the dead bodies. The blood smears of twenty two victims were taken for human DNA testing. The forensic team from Hyderabad had arrived the spot on Sunday, May 23.
136 bodies were handed over to their families. The twenty two bodies have heen dispatched to five private hospitals in the city till the identification is done. It will require more than a week to know the results of the DNA tests.
The cock pit recorder, which was recovered on Sunday is supposed to provide the desired informations about the crash.
