Abandoned truck creates a scare in New York

New York, May 6: Days after the attempted bombing at the Times Square, an abandoned truck found on a busy bridge created quite a scare in the city on Wednesday, May 5 night.

A worker on the bridge, which connects the New York City boroughs of Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx found the vehicle abandoned by its driver, the police said.

New York police department spokesperson Paul Browne added that the worker informed the officers that the U-Haul rental truck with Arizona license plates was smelling of gas.

The bridge was shut for awhile as fire officials were investigated the truck.

On Sunday, May 2, an attempt to bomb Times Square was foiled, following which the city has been put on high alert.
