J&K: 1 killed in stone pelting incident
Srinagar, Apr 30: A civilian was killed in a stone pelting incident in Batamaloo in Srinagar on Friday, Apr 30.
According to inputs, the victim identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Sheikh of Natipora was wounded when the stone pelters attacked the bus in which he was traveling.
Sheikh, who was sitting near the window, was hit on the head.
He was rushed to the hospital were he succumbed to his injuries.
Police said that the stone pelters were the supporters of Separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who is at present under house arrest.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has condemned the incident.
This is the second stone pelting death in the valley after an 11-day-old infant died at the hands of stone pelters on Feb 22, 2010.
