Hyderabad remains tense, curfew extended till 6pm
Hyderabad, Mar 30: With the situation in the old city areas of Hyderabad still tense, the curfew imposed on Monday, Mar 29 has been extended to Tuesday, Mar 30 effective till 6 pm.
In view of Hanuman Jayanti celebrations, all security forces and agencies have been put on high alert.
Communal clashes broke out in the city over the weekend prompting the Centre to rush paramilitary forces to the state to bring the situation under control.
Moghalpura, Shalibanda, Charminar, Aliabad, Falaknuma, Shamsheergunj and Lal Darwaja localities saw fresh violence on Monday, Mar 29. One person was stabbed to death in the violence.
As many as 80 people have been injured in the violence since Saturday, Mar 27.
The police has taken over 130 people into custody for involvement in the communal clashes.
