CPI(M) accuses ministers of patronising Maoists

New Delhi, Mar 23: Alleging that members of the cabinet were 'patronising' the Maoists, the CPI(M) has demanded a response from the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the attack on Rajdhani Express.

"We have a situation where ministers in the Union cabinet are patronising and encouraging the Maoists. The prime minister has to answer this," party Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury told the media on Tuesday, Mar 23.

He also said that his party members have expressed their resolve in Parliament and added, "This resolve expressed inside the House has to be followed up in practice."

The statement on cabinet members supporting the Maoists may be a reference to Mamata Banerjee as the CPI(M) has in the past blamed Trinamool Congress chief and Union Railway Minister of supporting the Maoists to gain political mileage.

On Monday, Mar 23 night, the ultras triggered explosions on railway tracking derailing the Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express near Gaya.
