China orders boycott of relief agency Oxfam
Beijing, Feb 23(ANI): China has reportedly told school administrators to shun international relief agency Oxfam over the group's alleged political motivations.
According to reports, an instruction has been issued to boycott all campus volunteer recruitment efforts run by the group's Hong Kong branch, which oversees its mainland China operations.
It describes the group as a non-governmental organisation seeking to infiltrate the mainland and called the Hong Kong branch's leader a stalwart of the opposition faction-language associated with communist political struggles, The Daily Express reports.
Although Oxfam has operated in China for 20 years, its top leadership remains suspicious of all independent social organisations outside its direct control. (ANI)
