Baloch leader says civilian govt asks them to seek Army's help to resolve issues
Islamabad, Feb.22 (ANI): Senior Baloch leader and the Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) president Talal Bugti has said his party has decided to seek help from the Army as the 'civilian set -up' has failed to resolve the issues concerning the people of Balochistan.
"We have contacted the military chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani for a detailed meeting in the coming days as civilian authorities always refer us to the Army for all our problems," The News quoted Bugti, as saying.
When asked whether he wanted an Army intervention in the issue, Bugti rejected any such plan and said that he would apprise the military chief about all the compulsions mentioned by the civilian authorities.
Bugti said he would also knock at the Supreme Court's door seeking the implementation of a number of decisions of the Balochistan High Court (BHC).
He demanded the concerned authorities take stern action against his father Nawab Akber Bugti's killers many of whom were still roaming freely and holding important posts.
"At least, the executive should take steps to arrest those roaming freely in Pakistan and initiate a process of bringing back those who have fled the country," Bugti said. (ANI)
