90pct of Americans would still remarry their spouse

Washington, Feb 15 (ANI): A majority of American couples say they would still tie the knot with their spouse if they had to rethink their marriage, a new poll has revealed.he poll by CBS News found that 90percent married Americans would remarry their spouse, a percentage that has hardly changed since 1995 when it was 93percent.

It was also seen that men were more likely to agree to marry their spouse again than their wives - 95percent of men said they would marry their wives again, compared to 85percent of women who said they would re-marry their husbands.

The total percentage of those who would walk down the aisle with their spouse again was also influenced by income - 95percent of those earning over 50,000dollars annually vs. 83percent of those making less.

When asked to pick the most important aspect of a successful relationship, 49percent said "Respect"; "Trust" followed with 37percent ratings, 10percent said a "Sense of humour", while only 2percent picked "Sex" as the most important part of a relationship.

The poll revealed that Americans were still divided on the existence of love at first sight exists.

Forty-six percent said they believed in love at first sight, while 50percent said they did not.

Nearly 47percent men believed in love at first sight compared to 44percent women.

The poll was conducted among a random sample of 868 adults nationwide, interviewed by telephone January 29-31, 2010. (ANI)
