Ten killed, 40 injured as boat capsizes in river Godavari

Hyderabad, Jan 30 (ANI): At least 10 persons drowned and over 40 others went missing after their boat overturned in Andhra Pradesh's Godavari river early on Saturday morning.

The incident took place at Upputeru in Narsapuram mandal of West Godavari district.

The boat that overturned was carrying around 40-50 persons, who were going to Lakshmi Narasimha Swami temple on the other side of the river.

The locals here said the boat was ferrying people more than its capacity.

However, rescue operations are on to trace the missing persons. (ANI)
