Keep criminals out of politics: Sonia

New Delhi, Jan 25: Vouching for politicians with a clean background, Congress president Sonia Gandhi has called for a unanimous decision to oust candidates with a criminal past from the political system.

Speaking on the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee celebration of the Election Commission, the Congress president urged the political parties to stand united in barring candidates with a criminal background from Indian politics.

Sonia's statement comes at a time when almost every political parties in the country have candidates with a shady background.
