Malaysian man threatens to divorce wife if daughter marries!

Kuala Lumpur, Jan 21 (ANI): A Malaysian man, who is dead set against his daughter marrying, has threatened to divorce her mother should she go ahead and marry.

According to the Harian Metro, Siti Nurhana Mohd Ariffin, 20, revealed that she has been delaying her marriage to Kamaruddin Mohamed, 24, for over a year because her father was against it.

"I called him a few times but he refused to be my wali (guardian). He said he was frustrated with my decision to marry Kamaruddin and said he would never forgive me if I did," the Star Online quoted her as saying.

Ariffin said she was worried that her father would go ahead and divorce her mother, as he is a hot-tempered man.

But she also said she would go ahead and have a court-appointed wali if her father still remained stubborn.

Mohamed said he had tried to meet his future father-in-law but failed, and that the man threatened to injure him if he goes ahead with the marriage. (ANI)
