Supreme Court rejects Prof Sabharwal son's plea
New Delhi, Jan 4 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Monday refused to entertain a petition filed by Himanshu Sabharwal challenging the acquittal of student union leaders for the murder of his father Professor H S Sabharwal in Ujjain.
The apex court bench headed by Justice P Sathasivam asked Himanshu to approach the appropriate High Court for remedy.
Justice P Sathasivam said in his order that as per procedure the acquittal order of the sessions court should be challenged in the High Court.
Prof. H S Sabharwal, who was heading he the political science department in Madhav College, was allegedly beaten up by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists.
He later succumbed to injuries in a hospital in August 2006. (ANI)
