KCR to meet political parties after Jan 5 meeting
Hyderabad, Jan 4: Seeking to draw support for Telangana, Telangana Rashtra Samiti chief K Chandrasekhar Rao announced that he would stay back after Centre-convened meet on Telangana on Tuesday, Jan 5 and meet leaders of political parties.
Briefing media about his plans Rao said on Sunday, Jan 3 that meeting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, AICC President Sonia Gandhi, Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumari and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj was one of his plans.
Rao said that the political parties' intention on Telangana will be convened by the Center in the Jan 5 meeting.
"It is only at the meeting that the real stand of different political parties will be known... which of the parties are supporting the separate state demand and which are opposing," Rao, accompanied by party idealogue K Jayshankar, said.
The meeting of eight political parties from Andhra Pradesh has been called in Delhi by Center to discuss about the Telangana issue.
Talking about the students rally at Osmania University in Hyderabad, TRS chief said that one lakh students from different districts of Telangana region were stopped by police from participating in the rally inspite of approval by High Court order.
