Pak rebuffs India's stance on occupied Kashmir
Islamabad, Jan.2 (ANI): Pakistan has rejected India's stance on occupied Kashmir, saying the dispute over the region was a result of New Delhi's refusal to implement the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
Responding to statements of the spokesman of the Indian External Affairs Ministry that Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) was an integral part of the country, Foreign Office spokesperson Abdul Basit said Islamabad has rejected all such claims.
"We have seen remarks by the spokesman of the Indian Ministry for External Affairs made today in which he has once again emphasised that 'Azad' Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. The government of Pakistan rejects the claim," Basit said in his statement.
Earlier, responding to certain comments of the Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister, the Indian ministry's spokesman had said that the any action to alter the status of Gilgit-Baltistan "has no legal basis". (ANI)
