Isreal warplanes destroy Gaza tunnels

Gaza City, Jan 2: Israeli warplanes destroyed two tunnels in Gaza, which were believed to have been established by militants who planned to enter Israel and carry out attacks.

According to the military, the Saturday, Jan 2 raids came in response to Gaza rocket fire two days earlier on the Israeli border community of Netivot.

Reports say that no one was hurt in the operations.

Since the end of Israel"s three-week war on Gaza"s Hamas rulers, the border has been relatively peaceful over the past few months.

Cross-border terrorism still exists.

However, the countries are busy with indirect negotiations on a prisoner swap.
