Beckham's 'genius' to hold England in good stead at World Cup, says Seedorf

London, Jan. 2 (ANI): AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf has said that David Beckham is in good shape to be in Fabio Capello's England World Cup squad.

Beckham, 34, rejoined AC Milan on loan from LA Galaxy to keep up his fitness levels ahead of next summer's World Cup finals.

"It's hard to tell from a few days of training how fit a player is, but with David you can easily see that he is in very good shape," The Mirror quoted Seedorf, as saying.

"David is a very good player, with great skill and he can be a genius. With those sort of qualities, any manager would want him in the World Cup squad. For England, he has to be an important player," he added.

While England boss Capello has already revealed that he will take Beckham in his 23-men squad as long as he is fit enough, Seedorf hoped that the addition of the ex-Manchester United midfielder would boost AC Milan's prospects against Alex Ferguson's boys.

"David can be a very good addition to our squad. We are still in the title race and he can help us with his experience and quality," he said.

"The Champions League game with Manchester United will be very special and emotive. For us, it will be like a European final because if we can get through then it will give everyone great belief," he added. (ANI)
