India gets 'landmarks' on Google Map

Bangalore, Dec 17: Google India has introduced the feature of 'landmarks' in Google Maps to help users with navigation by providing better and easier driving directions.

With this new feature, finding a place becomes a lot easier as Google will be using landmarks commonly used by people to navigate from place to place.

So instead of 'Take a right at Highway 10', Google Map will give the direction 'Turn right after the petrol pump'.

The landmark database was reportedly built on the data even by the users.

This service comes as a major relief to tech savvy Indians as it eases the trouble of navigating through the streets without proper signboards, along with the woes of language barriers.
