India's food inflation climbs to 19.95 pc
New Delhi, Dec 17: India'a annual food inflation rose to 19.95 per cent for the week ended Dec 5, 2009 from 19.05 prcent the week before.
The annual rate of inflation for primary articles, which include food articles, stood at 14.98 per cent as compared to 13.90 per cent for the previous week Nov 28, 2009.
The index for food articles rose by 0.3 percent to 292.2 from 291.2 for the previous week due to higher prices of urad.
Condiments and spices were up 3 pc, milk up 2 pc and maize, barley, pork, masur and wheat rose 1 per cent each.
