NREGA job cards valid upto five years: Centre
New Delhi, Dec 14 (ANI): The Union Government on Monday clarified that the job cards issued under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGA) are valid for a period of five years.
As per the NREGA guidelines the Gram Panchayats are required to issue job cards to the households who apply for registration after verification of name, age and address of the adult members of a household and affixing their photograph on the job cards.
Replying to a question in the Lok Sabha Union Minister of State for Rural Development Pradeep Jain Aditya said : In Andhra Pradesh, all households who applied for job cards have been issued the job card. However, in Uttar Pradesh, as per reports received from the State Government, 218913 registered households have not been issued job cards." (ANI)
