Indian inflation jumps to 4.78 per cent in Nov '09
New Delhi, Dec 14: Led by rising prices of essential food items, inflation rate for Nov 2009 jumped to 4.78 per cent as opposed to 1.34 per cent in Oct 2009.
Urad (24 per cent), moong (14 per cent) and chicken (10 per cent) are the food items that got costlier during the month, while fruits and vegetables became costlier by 3 per cent, the monthly inflation data released on Monday, Dec 14 said.
Processed food, skimmed milk powder became dearer by 15 per cent, oil cakes by 12 per cent and coffee powder and sugar by 3 per cent each, the data said.
In the previous fiscal inflation was at 8.48 per cent.
