Govt will be responsible if we die: GJM
New Delhi/ Siliguri, Dec 14: Gorkha Janmukthi Morcha (GJM) began their indefinite fast infront of Jantar Mantar on Dec 14.
Stating that the demand for separate Gorkhaland was older than the demand for Telangana, GJM spokesman Roshan Giri said that the agitation will continue until a separate Gorkhaland is given.
" We continue our demand and if we die the government will be responsible", Giri said.
Meanwhile, Darjeeling has remained close following a 96-hour bandh called by GJM on Monday, Dec 14 in the wake of their demand for separation from West Bengal.
Earlier on Dec 14, the GJM president Bimal Gurung said that demand for Gorkhaland will turn violent if the Center fails to meet its demands.
"If the government pushes us like this, we will be forced to take up violence. I will request Pranab babu not to push us in that direction," Gurung said.
