New Kannada 'Wiki' launched
Bangalore, Dec 6: New Kannada wikipedia 'Kanaja' was launched in Bangalore on Saturday, Dec 6.
It has been developed by Karnataka Knowledge Commission on the lines of wikipedia.
The State government had released Rs 2 crore for the project. The portal can accommodate up to 1.3 lakh articles.
The portal, which offers viewers' participation in keep updating the information, serves as a source of information on various issues in Kannada.
The portal has separate sections for art, literature, science, environment, media, history, technology and business.
Writer Go Ru Channabasappa suggested the title 'Kanaja', meaning a treasure, for the portal.
