Fingerprint checks at UK airports from Nov 30

London, Nov 29: The immigration authorities are introducing fingerprint checks for air passengers, to check the identity of departing passengers and to tighten up border controls for incoming from Monday, Nov 30.

On arrival in the United Kingdom, these passengers will have their fingerprints scanned at border control in addition to the normal checks.

According to official spokesman, the checks will verify that the passenger entering the United Kingdom is the same person who gave their biometrics when they applied for their visa.
