Akshay Kumar receives model Olympic Torch

Toronto, Nov 17: Bollywood actor, Akshay Kumar received the model of the Olympic Torch from the Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper on Monday, Nov 16.

Akshay Kumar who is one of the fifteen international bearers of the Olympic Torch will be running with the Olympic Torch in Toronto on Dec 17.

The 42-year-old Indian actor is the only one from the world of entertainment industry to have the honour of carrying the Olympic Torch for the 21st Winter Olympic Games to be held in Canada from Feb 12 to Feb 28, 2010.

The martial arts practitioner was recently awarded with the highest Japanese honor of the 'katana.'

Akshay Kumar has also been the brand ambassador for Special Olympics.
