Senior security officer dies in Kashmir landmine blast

Srinagar, Nov 16(ANI): A senior security officer was killed on Monday when his jeep ran over a landmine near the India-Pakistan border, police said.

The Deputy Inspector General of the border guards was one of the highest ranked officers to have been killed in recent years.

Earlier in the day, two soldiers were killed while foiling an infiltration bid by militants from across the border in Keran sector in Kupwara district on Kashmir Valley. (ANI)
