6.2-magnitude quake rocks Pak-Afghan border

Islamabad, Oct 23: A strong earthquake measuring up to 6.2 in magnitude jolted the mountainous regions of Pakistan-Afghanistan border at around 12 am local time on Friday, Oct 23.

According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the epicenter of the earthquake was located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.

The quake was also felt in Pakistani cities such as Islamabad and Peshawar. Even Lahore situated near the Indian border reportedly felt the temblor.

No causalities have been reported yet.
