Gay rights marchers remind Obama his promises

Washington, Oct 12: Just days after winning the Nobel Peace Prize for actively dealing with like nuclear disarmament, global warming, and terrorism; US president Barack Obama has a new challenge to face.

Thousands of people belonging to the gay community and activists gathered outside the White House reminding Obama of the promise he made to end discrimination against homosexuals and also let them serve openly in the military.

Speaking to America's largest gay group on Saturday,Oct 10, the president pledged to repeal the 'don't ask, don't tell' policy which allows homosexuals to serve in the military if they do not reveal their sexual orientation.

While the marchers screamed slogans like, "Hey, Obama, let mama marry mama", and "We're out, we're proud, we won't back down", the demonstration was attended by stars and renowned artists like cast members from the musical, 'Hair' and 'Sex and the City' star Cynthia Nixon.
