Red Warrants against Musharraf, Aziz only after court orders: Malik
Islamabad, Oct.8 (ANI): The Pakistan Government would issue 'Red Warrants' against former President General Pervez Musharraf and former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz for their extradition in connection with the Baloch leader Akbar Bugti's murder case only if the court directs it to do so.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik said if the court of law directs it, the government would issue notices for Musharraf and Aziz's extradition as neither of the two leaders enjoys indemnity in this regard.
"The government would follow the directions of the Balochistan High Court and, if asked, will issue Red Warrants for the arrest and extradition to Pakistan of both figures,"The Daily Times quoted Malik, as saying.
It may be noted that the Balochistan High Court (BHC) has ordered the concerned authorities to book former Musharraf along with Aziz and former Balochistan Chief Minister Jaam Yousuf for the murder of Nawab Akbar Bugti.
The court has directed the Station Head Officer (SHO) of the Dera Bugti police station to register a case against Musharraf and others in connection with Bugti's murder.
The court has also asked all the accused to appear before the court through the Foreign Affairs Ministry. (ANI)
