One more H1N1 death in B'lore , K'taka toll at 100
Bangalore, Oct 7: With Swine flu claiming one more life in Karnataka, the state's death toll reaches 100. The latest victim was a 31-year old woman who died at a private hospital on Friday Oct 2 in Bangalore.
However, the test reports confirming that the woman died of Swine Flu was received only on Monday, Oct 5, Health Officials said.
Out of the state's 100 fatalities, 67 of them were reported from the capital, Bangalore.
Announcing this on Tuesday, Oct 6, the health officials urged the people to practice good personal hygiene.
"Personal hygiene is a must, as there is fear that the winter season might further increase the spread of the H1N1 virus. Basic steps like washing hands with an anti-germ solution or soap, before and after eating food is a simple way to protect oneself from swine flu," principal secretary for health I R Perumal was quoted as saying in a news agency report.
