Blast near Islamabad's UN office; foreigner killed

Islamabad, Oct 5: One person was killed and many were injured in a blast at an office of the UN World Food Programme (WFP) in Islamabad on Monday, Oct 5.

According to media reports, Waseem Khawaja, a doctor and spokesman at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, the main government hospital in Islamabad has confirmed that one foreigner and four others were severely injured in the blast.

UN official Amjad Jamal was quoted as saying that there was a blast in the WFP office and that the officials are yet to determine 'what sort of blast it was and what was its target'.
